DescriptionDaily meteorological observations made at Somerset House, generally made in the morning and afternoon. On printed sheets, with columns for the date, time [left blank], external and interior thermometers, barometer, hygrometer [blank], rain, direction and strength of winds, and general weather remarks. Full annual summaries by month are absent, but there is a summary of rainfall January-April 1822 [p.3].

There is an additional inserted rough sheet [pp.53-54] for 13 December 1822-6 January 1823. A pasted-in note [p.40] contains a memorandum describing 'a violent squall' on 19 October 1822. Another memorandum [p.9] notes that the barometer was filled by Mr. [John] Cary on 11 February 1822.

Published as 'Meteorological Journal, kept at the apartments of the Royal Society, by order of the President and Council', Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society, v.113 (1823), pp.1-26 [additional].
