DescriptionCollected tables for one month's observations at Madras [Chennai]. Commencing with sheets headed: 'Abstract of hourly observations...' of the bifilar and vertical force magnetometers; with the thermometers attached to the bifilar and vertical force magnetometers. Including the barometer and its attached thermometer; and dry and wet bulb thermometers. Also, direction or azimuth of the wind; force of the wind; a general abstract of meteorological observations; temperature of dew point, elasticity of vapour, maximum and minimum temperature and solar and terrestrial radiation; and a register of rain and evaporation.

Hourly observations of the bifilar magnetometer [pp.2-7] appear on two recording sheets, divided at 15 January, as do the attached thermometer observations [pp.9-11]. There are no hourly observations of the declination magnetometer. Term day observations for January 1845 are not present.

Each monthly sheet is signed by S.O.E. Ludlow, as Superintendent of the Observatory. Inscribed [p.22]: 'Madras. Meteorological Obs. January 1845 to June'.
