| Description | Hourly observations made at Trivandrum [Thiruvananthapuram], Kerala, of the declination, horizontal force, and vertical force magnetometers, commencing from 10.00p.m. on 27 November [Gottingen Mean Time] and continuing to 9.00p.m. on 28 November 1841. With readings of the barometer and attached thermometer, dry and wet bulb thermometer, and calculated dew point and tension of vapour [in the printed column for electrometer readings] over the same period. There are general remarks on the state of the weather.
Headed 'Abstract of Term-day Observations'. The horizontal force observations have been made on the end page [p.4] instead of the usual printed form [p.2] with a note: 'This being one of the German Term days, simultaneous observations of the Bifilar & Declination Magnetometers were made...'. |
