DescriptionCommencing: 'I have to report that from my attention being at present so much taken up with other duties these observations are not better worth the acceptance of the Royal Society; I have however devoted to them every moment I could possibly spare...'. Caldecott describes the fixing and adjustments to the observatory's instruments, before providing short tables of vibrations using a Hansteen's cylinder, with corresponding magnetometer readings.
