Description | Hourly observations made at Trivandrum [Thiruvananthapuram], Kerala, of the declination, horizontal force, and vertical force magnetometers, commencing from 10.00p.m. on 20 January [Gottingen Mean Time] and continuing to 9.00p.m. on 21 January 1842. The horizontal and vertical force magnetometer readings are not on the usual printed form [p.2], but have been added to the end sheet [p.4]. With readings of the barometer and attached thermometer, dry and wet bulb thermometer, and calculated dew point and tension of vapour [in the printed column for electrometer readings] over the same period. There are general remarks on the state of the weather.
Headed 'Abstract of Term-day Observations'. With a memorandum signed by John Caldecott [p.4]: 'It will be observed that all the observations on this Term day, have been made on the new system of two minute observations in the order of V,D,H,V,D,H, &c. each instrument being observed every six minutes'. |
