| Description | Daily observations at hourly intervals at Singapore. Readings of the declination magnetometer, bifilar magnetometer uncorrected with its attached thermometer, vertical force magnetometer, uncorrected, and its attached thermometer; uncorrected barometer and its attached thermometer, corrected barometer, actinometer, dry thermometers exposed and in shade, wet thermometers exposed and in shade. With elasticity of vapour at the temperature of the hygrometer, elasticity of vapour at the temperature of dew point [four observations per day], minimum temperature, solar and terrestrial radiation;elasticity of vapour hygrometer from shade thermometers (at temperature of dew point), with hourly observations of solar radiation. There are also term day observations, commencing at 10.00p.m. on 24 February 1844 and concluding at 9.00p.m. on 25 February [Gottingen mean time], with readings of the magnetometers, barometer, dry and wet thermometers exposed and in shade, direction and force of wind, extent of cloudy sky and general remarks.
