DescriptionDaily meteorological observations made at Deesa, Gujarat State. Readings taken at 9.30am and 3.30pm. Columns for: Moon's age, day of the week and month; barometer; hygrometer, wind and cloud; dry and wet bulb self-registering thermometers; rainfall and wind; concluding with columns for prevalent diseases, natural history [not completed] and general weather remarks. With maximums, minimums and means. A few comments verso, notably [p.6 March 1858]: 'On the night of the 31st about 12 o/C a slight shock of Earthquake quite distinct but not severe...'.

Each sheet is headed 'No. 1 Meteorological Observatory at Camp Deesa...'. Inscribed 'Observations made by Corp. George Imrie H.M. 83rd Regt.'. Variously signed and endorsed by the Regimental Surgeon, Richard Gilborne, and by the Assistant Surgeons at the hospital, William Carden Roe, James Bonnyman and Alexander Robert Kilroy. Typed paper label [p.24]: 'Deasa. Daily met. obs. 1858.'.
