DescriptionTables of weather observations made at Karachi, Pakistan [then India] at the hospital of the 2nd Bombay European Light Infantry Regiment. Readings taken at 5.00am and 3.00pm. Columns for: Moon's age, day of the week and month; barometer; hygrometer, wind and cloud; dry and wet bulb self-registering thermometers; rainfall and wind; concluding with columns for prevalent diseases, natural history [not completed] and general weather remarks. With maximums, minimums and means.

Each sheet is headed 'Meteorological Observatory at the hospital of the 2nd Reg...Kurrachee...'. Signed 'W.B. Barrington Surgeon 2nd Regt...'' May-August 1854, succeeded by 'A. Wright Surgeon' September-November 1854. Also signed by B.P. Rooke as Supervising Surgeon. Each sheet is inscribed verso with similar information and the dates of completion on the first of the following month. Typed paper label [p.14]: 'Kurrachee. Daily met obs. 15 May-30 Nov 1854.'.
