DescriptionMagnetometers observations on selected 'term days' of each month, at two and a half minute intervals. There are twenty four observation times per sheet, of the declination, horizontal force and vertical force instruments. Columns for specification of magnetometer, times of observation [Gottingen mean time, rather than local observatory time used], magnetometer readings and means [of usually three readings]. At the foot of the magnetometer readings, are meteorological observations: columns for hour [Gottingen mean time], thermometers attached to the horizontal and vertical force magnetometers, dry and wet bulb thermometers, barometer height and temperature of mercury. There is an unused column for electrometer readings, and some general observations of the weather, usually noting wind direction.

Each sheet is headed: 'Observatory at Bombay. Term-Day Observations of Magnetometers', with the date. Printed book plate on front inner board: 'Wm. H. Allen & Co. Booksellers, Publsihers & Importers of Oriental Works: 7 Leadenhall Street. Maps,Charts, Stationary &c.'.
