Made during National Antarctic Expedition 1901-1904 [the Discovery Expedition] led by Captain Robert Falcon Scott.

Inscribed [p.1]: 'Atmospheric Electricity. Observations with Thomson Portable Electrometer'. Label to inner front board: 'Evans Hallewell & Co. Manufacturing Stationers 5, Ave Maria Lane, Ludgate Hill, E.C. Regsiter Number 47256'.
