DescriptionRegarding a planned upcoming journey to North and South America, of which Yosy needs to inform the Council of the Society, and requesting contact information on multiple agents or correspondents of the Royal Society in the destination regions. These include: [George Hamilton-Gordon], 4th Earl of Aberdeen, Robert W. Hay, Minister of the Marine and the Colonies in Paris; H.E. Lewis; Colombian Minister in London. M. Warden, late American Consul General at Paris.
The fourth page of the letter contains a response, dated 22 April 1830, written by Captain Edward Sabine, Secretary of the Royal Society, informing Yosy of the Society's lack of permissions on these matters.
