The letter was received by Christie from the President and Secretary of the Comité international des poids et mesures, protesting 'against the withdrawal of this country from the Convention du Mètre [The Metre Convention or Treaty of the Metre]. Christie intends to the Treasury 'independently' regarding this. Refers to the question of withdrawal from the Association Géodésique. General [Richard] Strachey remarks on the Treasury's consideration.
