DescriptionStates that the death of the Master of Pembroke College, Oxford, creates a vacancy among the fellows of Winchester College and that the duty of appointing this successor devolves on the President and Council of the Royal Society. Informs that the only statutory condition of the College is that the appointed gentleman must be a member of the Church of England, and that it would be prefereable for them to live and work in close proximity, to enable attendance at meetings.
