TitleLetter from [Peter Lutley] Sclater, Zoological Society, 3, Hanover Square, London, to the Secretaries of The Royal Society
CreatorSclater; Philip Lutley (1829 - 1913)
Date16 November 1899
DescriptionRequests a donation of £320 on behalf of Mr. G. A. Boulenger, a Fellow of the Royal Society. The funding is intended to partially cover the expenses of Mr. Delhay's Expedition to the Senegal River, where he is collecting fish specimens. Although £100 has already been provided from the Government Grant Fund for this expedition, it is insufficient to cover all expenses. Mr. Boulenger's reputation for his work on African freshwater fishes is well-known. Emphasizes the importance of examining the fish species in the Senegal River-system, particularly in connection with Mr. Boulenger's ongoing research on the Congo and Great African Lakes.
