Description | Writing on behalf of the Trustees of the Australian Museum, in response to the Royal Society's concerns about the publication of a pamphlet written by Mr. Hedley. Provides a resolution passed by the Trustees expressing regret for not being informed of the Royal Society's instructions to Professor Sollas, which would have affected their decision to publish the "Funafuti Memoir." The Trustees emphasize that Mr. Etheridge and Mr. Hedley were unaware of these instructions. Asserts that only the Board is responsible for the publication and that they wish to complete the work. Sinclair also provides a list of the enclosed relevant documents [enclosures persent] and highlights key points about the history of the matter, including the communication of instructions and the official nature of the publication. Informs the Trustees request the Royal Society's prompt decision regarding the completion of the work.
