Title | Letter from [William Henry] Power, Local Government Board, Whitehall, to Dr [Michael] Foster, [Secretary of the Royal Society] |
Creator | Power; Sir William Henry (1842-1916) |
Date | 20 January 1897 |
Description | Pertaining to a letter (from the Society/Foster) shown to him by Sydney Copeman, medical doctor. Power empathises with Copeman whilst acknowledging the Sciety’s position on the ample bovine resources he received and his methods of vaccine research. He offers suggestions to Foster about how to handle the delicate scenario and utilises the situation to bring up the subject of his own desire for a Government Laboratory. In making his suggestions, he further advises Foster how to approach the relevant Society boards, using the previous method of Victor Horsley, physiologist and neurosurgeon, as an example of how not to do it. |
