TitleLetter from Percival [Spencer Umfreville] Pickering, Harpenden, Hertfordshire, to [Archibald] Geikie
CreatorPickering; Percival Spencer Umfreville (1858-1920)
Date17 November 1907
DescriptionPickering thanks Geikie for his letter of the 14th [NLB/36/554] and his kind words about Pickering's obituary notice for Robert Warington. In reply to omitting any mention of the quarrel between Waringotn and Gilbert as suggested in Geikie's letter, Pickering would like to leave the matter in the hands of the Royal Society and Geikie himself, and is happy to agree with their decision. Discusses his own personal opinion regarding the matter and remarks that the quarrel with Gilbert, influenced Warington's scientific endeavours.
