TitleLetter from [Sydney Samuel] Hough, Royal Observatory, Cape of Good Hope, to [Robert] Harrison, Assistant Secretary, Royal Society, London
CreatorHough; Sydney Samuel (1870 - 1923)
Date18 September 1908
DescriptionReports a discrepancy in the Observatory Library, noting that Vols. 197, 198, and 199 of the Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society are missing. There is no record of their receipt, and he speculates that they might have been lost in the post during the war. Requests confirmation of dispatch and, if not already supplied, asks for the missing volumes to complete the Observatory set. Attached is an internal Royal Society memorandum, dated 12 October, pertaining to the matter.
