Creator | Neumayer; Georg Balthasar von (1826 - 1909) |

Description | Informs that the search for the lost volumes of the Melbourne Observations 1858-1866 have not yet been found, stating he believes it unlikely that they will be found. Thanks the Royal Society for their search but wishes to settle the matter on the mystery of the disappearance. Includes an internal Royal Society Memorandum dated 27 November 1908, which emphasises that the matter should not be allowed to drop out of sight and that further clues may lie in cleaning stock rooms. |
