DescriptionInforming the Royal Society of £119.18.6 Bank of Ireland Stock standing in the name of the late Reverend Maxwell Henry Close, Earl of Rosse, and the late George Francis FitzGerald. States this fund was always paid to Close and appears to have been used by him for the maintenance of magnetic observations at Valentia, Co Kerry. Refers to correspondence between the Royal Society and Lord Rosse, found by his son, and states he could not find any Deed of Trust and has instructed for a transfer of stock to be be made to the Royal Society, as per the correspondence. Requests particulars and enquires whether the Meteorological Society are to approve the arrangement.
