TitleLetter from Henrik Gronwold, Natural History Museum, London, S.W, to The Royal Society of London, Burlington House
CreatorGronvold; Henrik (1858-1940); Danish naturalist and artist
Date1 July 1912
DescriptionAcknowledges previous correspondence and clarifies his position on reluctantly producing fine plates, stating he wished to be paid a higher price than Sir Ray Lankester was willing to pay. States that he eventually reached an agreement with Lankester. Asks whether the Royal Society still have his original drawing, stating that the reproduction in the copy, the only one he has seen, is not of satisfactory quality and he is sorry to have his name on the plate. Presumes that Lankester was happy with his work, quoting his remarks, informing that he was to pay him £6.6 for another less complicated flint, stating he only did one figure of those arranged for the plate, when he had to return the flint in question. Still has the drawing in his possession wishing to show it to the Society.
