Description | Informs that from Mr Babbage's [grandson of Charles Babbage] letter it appears that he is asking if the Royal Society expressed any opinion of the possibility of completing Charles Babbage's machine, and that if any records exist, they are likely to be at Burlington House. States that in the Science Museum, from where he is writing, there is a part of Babbage's difference engine, portions of an analytical engine, and the original computations and drawings for the instrument. Encloses the pamphlet to which he refers [enclosure not present]. The second page of the letter is a brief list of items pertaining to the machine, dated 7 October 1912. |
