TitleLetter from James Williams, 18 Quex Road, West Hampstead, N.W, to the [Royal Society]
CreatorWilliams; James (fl 1915)
Date15 September 1915
DescriptionStates that Sir Clements [Robert] Markham infomred him that the late Dr [Richard] Spruce left a quantity of linguistic matter relating to Amazonian languages which together with his botanical notes passed into the keeping of the late Dr G.R Wallace in 1908, the latter having published the botanical notes but not the linguistic material. Sir Clements believes that the linguistic material was passed to Dr Wallace's son at his father's death and suggests the Royal Society may be able to help in locating the works by putting him in touch with Wallace's son.
