Title | Letter from Ross [Winthrop] Gilbert, 628 Cambridge Avenue, to Mr [William Bate] Hardy, Burlington House, London, W.1 |
Creator | Gilbert; Ross Winthrop (1879-1955) |
Date | 26 July 1923 |
Description | Complains of being ignored by the Royal Society when he sought reasons for their decision not to publish his and Mabel Crawley Gilbert's thesis. Angrily accuses the Society of being dishonourable for offering in a letter, of 24 November 1922, to communicate the thesis to the Royal Society, questioning Hardy's competence. Believes that the Society has been churlish and brusque in their communication. States that "the fate of Orthoporeutic Descent, however, will scarcely be decided by your verdict". |
