Title | Copy letter from Sir Henry Thomas Tizard, to Professor Ashby, British Embassy, Moscow |
Date | 27 August 1945 |
Description | A request that upon Ashby's departure from Russia in November, he travel to the London to provide an account of his experiences to the Royal Society, and send a copy of his report. Also asks whether Ashby can speak to the Foreign Secretary and others of the Academy of Sciences about the International Unions. Tizard notes the Society hopes to revive and extend International Unions rather than undertaking a more elaborate plan of international scientific cooperation, with reference to the similiar view of the Americans and his wish to know the Russian view on the matter. Tizard remarks that international cooperation without the Russians would be 'rather absurd'. |
