Title | Letter from Professor Frederick John Marrian Stratton, to Sir Henry Tizard, Royal Society, Burlington House, London W.1. |
Date | 19 September 1945 |
Description | Two numbered enquiries from the secretary of the International Council of Scientific Unions.
The first concerns a request to obtain permission for the Executive Committee of the International Council of Scientific Unions to meet in Royal Society rooms on 4-5 December, noting the number of expected attendees as ten or twelve, with Stratton expressing disappointment at the response to his initial letter regarding the meeting. The second refers to an enclosed letter from Professor Burgers, relating to his difficulties gaining visa entry to England for his scientific delegation. Stratton notes his enquiries about Burgers have received 'a clean sheet', and asks whether Tizard might write to the Home Office in suport of Burgers visa application. |
