TitleLetter from A V Hill to Ritchie Calder, Western Central District Post Office, New Oxford Street, WC1
Date9 September 1942
DescriptionSuggests that Calder get in touch with Griffith Davies regarding material for the British weekly paper in Moscow. On the subject of refugee scientists, notes that many 'are quite good but very few are at the top of the first class' - suggests that he contact Miss Simpson of the Society for the Protection of Science and Learning, and concentrate on 'the more ordinary kind' of refugee scientist helping 'in more ordinary ways' rather than 'a few star cases'. Suggests the case of Germany losing out because of the expulsion of her best scientists is overstated.
