TitleLetter from A V Hill, to Max Born, Department of Natural Philosophy, University of Edinburgh
Date14 December 1942
DescriptionThanks Born for his letter. Has never heard of the Inter-Allied Committee for the Supervision of the Political Activities of Aliens of German and Austrian Origin'. Suggests that [the man Born mentions] is 'talking through his hat'. Regarding the 'Darlan affair' - thinks that the British government could 'not have done other than it did, assuming that it did not want to quarrel with the Americans as well as to fight the Germans' - suggests that it would be in Hitler's interest to have the British, Americans, and Russians all quarreling with each other.
