TitleLetter from Amabel Nevill Sollas, Romsey, Hampshire, to Sir Joseph John Thomson
Date30 June 1918
DescriptionIn reply to Thomson's letter, she intended to mention the National Health Insurance Medical Research Committee - no wonder he could not identify it from her description as the 'Army Research Committee'. She had written to her daughter, who is doing research on cerebro-spinal meningitis at Oxford, for the correct name. Mrs. Sollas will send a cheque for £100 on her return from Oxford, as dividends received on the money she is handing over. She asks if the Royal Society would hand over dividends to the Committee, until the war is over or until such time as a research student in pathology could be named. This would be in accordance to her son's [Henry Moseley] wishes. More money will come when she dies. She hopes to leave for France in three weeks.
