TitleLetter from David Meredith Seares Watson, University of London, University College, Gower Street, London, to [Francis Alexander Towle], the Assistant Secretary, the Royal Society
Date19 February 1924
DescriptionHe would be glad if Towle could convey his deep appreciation to the President and Council of the Royal Society for the invitation to deliver the Croonian Lecture. He accepts, and could give it on the origin of the amphibia on 22 or 29 May 1924. His recent paper, 'Structure, evolution and origin of the amphibia...', communicated to the Royal Society within the last month, covers some of the necessary ground and he wonders if the rules would allow him to modify the paper to form the Croonian Lecture, or whether two papers should stand independently. In the latter case, he would have to withdraw some sections of the original paper, to avoid duplication.
