| Description | States that the ad hoc committee meeting was somewhat dissatisfying. Weight of opinion was 'in favour of Tilapia studies to the exclusion of all else'. He objected to this and pressed the importance of Haplochromis research and feels successful in his rebuttle. John Lund and the Royal Society are going to try and sort out the 'leave situation'.
Asks that if George Ganf catches any more H. guiarti to please preserve them. There is a lack of relaible data about the onspecificity of the species from his own research at Lake Victoria. Says that Dr Cott is travelling to look at pelicans shortly so Dunn should get some interesting results. States that on a previous pelican shoot, results indicated that pelicans were feeding entirely on cyprinodonts.
James Chambers has annotated the letter, including adding the date ('7 Nov for Gods sake') and making spelling and grammar corrections. Adds as a PS that he intends to write to Dunn personally soon. |
