Title | Letter from Humphrey Lloyd, Trinity College, Dublin to Edward Sabine |
Date | 10 February 1848 |
Description | Discussion on [Henry] Barrow’s instrument adjustments. Lloyd sends Sabine copies of the note regarding the application of the inclinometer to the determination of the total absolute intensity [not enclosed]. Mr Barrow proposed to substitute a brass circle for the brass needle in adjusting the circles and microscopes. The aim of this adjustment is to make the axis of the dipping needle in direction with the axis of the divided circle, and to make the microscope wires vertical. Lloyd encourages Sabine to contact Barrow in regard to the instrument adjustment, as there may be other modifications. |
