Title | Letter from Edward Sabine, Worcester Park Surrey to Humphrey Lloyd, Trinity College, Dublin |
Date | 28 October [1837] |
Description | Sabine replies to a long series of questions which Lloyd had posed of him in a previous letter, mainly concerning reduction of the observations of, and some of the instruments and needles used during, their British magnetic survey.
Sabine also replies to some of Lloyd's queries regarding the proper fitting out of Lloyd's new magnetic observatory at Dublin. Sabine particularly suggests an instrument for the changes of dip such as [Henri-Prudence] Gambey made for [Adolph Theodor] Kupffer. |
