Description | Broun informs Lloyd that the term observations form the Makerstoun observatory have been forwarded. Broun discusses alterations he has made to Mr Russell's method. Discussion regarding the diurnal curve and the angular values from the astronomical meridian. Broun informs Lloyd that in the reductions the vertical force readings have been corrected for the deviation of the crosses from the magnetic axis. Discussion regarding meteorological observations, and adoptions made to the method for estimating the force of wind and quantity of clouds. Broun informs Lloyd that Mr Russell has not corrected the daily observations for the error of the crosses in the vertical force, and asks if Broun should do this instead. |
