Description | Eardley-Wilmot updates Lloyd on the progress of the building of the Cape of Good Hope observatory. The carpenters and painters are now working on the completion of the transit room. The declination instrument is now in place. Dimensions of the pedestal, and discussion on the placement of the horizontal force instrument and telescopes. The distance between the declination and horizontal force magnetometer was found using a colby measuring rod.
Discussion on the dipping needles and their replacement. Eardley-Wilmot disccuses the placement of the instruments and experiments to conduct.
Eardley-Wilmot congratulates Lloyd on his marriage. |
