Description | Monthly report of the superintendents of exploration. 'The excavation of the "vestibule" or "Sloping Chamber" of MacEnery is almost completed'. More bones have been found, including the right side of the lower jaw of a cavern bear - 'it contained a canine but no other tooth'. Elsewhere, a large number of shells, and fragments of pottery were found. Alongside an 'amber bead, portions of a helical coil of bronze, and a bone comb'. The comb is reported to have been smaller, but similar in decoration, to the one presented in a report in 1865. |
