TitleLetter from Edward Belcher, Paris to [Edward Sabine]
Date25 December 1856
DescriptionBelcher notes that some years have passed since they made their observations, and he is satisfied that the instruments were maintained with a steadiness at such a high latitude. Discussion on the ‘arctic terra firma’, the surface of the ice in different months and its effects on magnetic and astronomical purposes. When Sabine comes to discuss the data of ‘Belcher’s trip’ he would be glad to know if any of their disturbances had connections with other observatories.
