| Description | Adare describes his travels, spending time Fontainebleau with the Gore-Booths. Adare remark that Sir [Robert] Gore-Booth and Lady Gore-Booth travelled to on to Paris. Adare refers to his geological tours, and comments on geologists quarrelling about different rocks. Reference to [Roderick] Murchison’s series [of formations]. Reference to reasoning of geologists, in particular [William] Buckland.
Adare recently heard from ‘Griffin’ and just returned from the observatory, and describes what has been done and seen about the ‘comet’. |
