Describes the political situation in America, the surrender of the army of Northern Virginia, and remarks the ‘rebellion is at an end’ and ‘slavery in the United States is also at an end’. Caswell refers to ‘A model republic based on African slavery as its corner stone’. Remarks on the rebellion and the Confederate force in North Carolina.
