Description | Chambers has sent Sabine a table of the total force calculated according to Sabine’s instructions. Chambers describes how he obtained the dip from 1858 to 1860. Reference to the Kew circle and Dr [William Balfour] Baikie’s circle. Mr Rokeby’s instruments are with Gibson to make small alterations. Chambers would be very pleased to receive the cards Sabine mentioned and attend his soirees. Chambers asks Sabine for Mr Archibald Smith’s paper on ships compasses. |
