Description | Discussion on the removal of the time signal ‘call’ at the Colaba Observatory and is expecting to receive a new clock ordered by the Astronomer Royal, and describes the use of the clock, and other magnetic instruments. Reference to the Secretary of State for India’s decision to decline Chambers alteration to the observatory in [Mumbai] Bombay, as well as the necessity of observations in India, and the observatory being under the control of the Astronomer Royal. In a letter to the [Mumbai] Bombay Government Chambers remarked on the advantages of working to the Kew system. Discussion regarding terrestrial magnetism in India. |
