An underground room was designed by Dr Balfour Stewart to house the set of self-recording magnetographs constructed by the Kew Committee. A self-recording barograph and thermograph have been sent to the Colaba Observatory. The electrical clock for the Bombay [Mumbai] Harbour and Pilotage Board has arrived, and thanks conveyed to the Astronomer Royal for instructions to use it. Discussion on the time and attention given to the total eclipse of the sun on 18th August [1868]. New chronometers have been received from England for the government store at [Mumbai] Bombay. Incudes a statement depicting the chronometers at present in the government store and on merchant vessels. Remarks on the addition to the library. List of applications of information on meteorological and other questions responded. List of people instruments have been examined for. Comments on result calculated from different instruments from different observations. Remarks on work done as a result of suggestions from the Astronomer Royal.
