DescriptionBallot thanks Sabine for various volumes of meteorological observations from Greenwich and Toronto. Ballot informs Sabine that he will receive a copy of the Dutch meteorological annals of 1856 in a few weeks, and refers to the normal values of the barometer and thermometer. Ballot references that the [Philosophical] Magazine has stopped printing daily observations at Orkney [Island], Chiswick, and [Borton]. Reference to Mr Lowe and his repeated promises to send Ballot observations from different planes in England. Reference to publication of the marine part of the institute. Ballot asks Sabine regarding a general system of meteorological observations. Discussion on holding a meeting with meteorologists.
