| Title | Copy letter, James Hudson, Assistant Secretary of the Royal Society, to Alexander Melville |
| Creator | Hudson; James (1804-1859); British librarian and assistant secretary to the Royal Society |
| Date | 20 November 1833 |
| Description | Melville's word would be sufficient for the return of library books. However, Council ask of Hudson a clear return of books and he must interpret this indiscriminently. The confusion of books during current cataloguing is to be regretted. Hudson did not find the Transactions in its place and there was some omission in recording its return. Hudson regrets the trouble he has given to Melville. |
