DescriptionExpressing Council's gratification from the intention of the Directors of the East India Company to send out instruments for magnetic observations at Aden. They emphasised the importance of their proceeding as quickly as possible, so that simultaneous observations may be made with other observatories. They suggest the necessity of appointing an officer who had communicated with Mr [Humphrey] Lloyd.
