| Description | To the request for a report on the calculating machine recently constructed my Mr Doukin, based on the plan of a machine invented and constructed by Mr Scheutz, who was himself influenced by Babbage's partially constructed machine. Informs a committee was set up consisting of W H miller, Mr Wheatstone, Prof. Willis and Stokes himself. Sends the report.
