Description | Sharpey informs Lowe that upon discussion with his colleague [George Gabriel] Stokes, Lowe's paper will not be passed on to the Royal Society. Sharpey adds that 'Mr Stokes informed me that a method of illumination by transmitting light through solid glass cylinders has been made known somewhere already, and although he does not now recollect where the account is published, he is quite sure of the fact.' |
