TitleCopy letter from W [William] Sharpey, Secretary of the Royal Society, B H [Burlington House], to Wm [William] Miller
CreatorSharpey; William (1802-1880); British physiologist
RecipientMiller; William (1838-1923); British missionary
Date27 February 1865
DescriptionConfirms that copies of 'Philosophical Transactions' from 1830 onwards and ''Proceedings [of the Royal Society]' from 1800 onwards are likely to be able to be presented 'in exchange for literary & scientific publications of the Indian government'. Sharpey notes that copies of 'Philosophical Transactions' from 1666 onwards are 'rarely to be procured in a complete series', but suggests that the 16 volumes of Hutton & Shaw's Abridgement up to 1800 will be more easily procured. Sharpey advises Miller to call [Walter] White, Secretary of the Royal Society, for further information.
