DescriptionDescribes the Commission's decision to take over the control of maize after receiving assurance that the Ministry of Munitions would have enough for the production of munitions -- discusses the decreased import of maize due to decisions to prioritize shipments of wheat -- notes that the demand for maize is now in excess of supply, leading to problems. Suggests that existing stocks of 'potable spirit' and industrial alcohol be used in the manufacture of munitions -- outlines a scheme for restricting the amounts of yeast used in baking bread, drawing on the recommendations of the Royal Society and Mr Kirkland of Borough Polytechnic.
