TitleLetter from William B Hardy to U Wintour of the Ministry of Food
Date2 July 1917
DescriptionGives the opinion of the Food (War) Committee that the German paper's claim of a new discovery in the extraction of oil and albumen from grain is wrong -- notes that the composition of grain has been known for a long time -- that process of extraction might have improved, as oil produced this way usually goes to feed animals -- that it might be advisable to encourage the separation of this oil for human use. Makes suggestions about the use of wheat germ in flour.
